How Auk works and how to get the clips you want. Can't find an answer? Email [email protected].
Getting started
- How do I make my first clips with Auk?Paste a YouTube link or upload a video file, pick a caption style and the part to use, and press Make clips. Which videos work and what it costs.
- How does Auk pick the best moments and make clips?Auk transcribes your video, finds moments that work on their own, scores them from 0 to 100, and cuts the best into vertical clips. Each step explained.
- How do I watch, favorite and download my clips?Your clips appear on the project page. Click one to play it, add it to favorites, open it in the editor, or download the MP4.
Credits
- How do credits work in Auk?One credit is one minute of the video or section you pick, charged once. Clips, edits, downloads and publishing are free; failed projects are refunded.
- Do I get my credits back if a project fails?Yes. When Auk cannot make clips from your video, every credit that project charged comes back automatically. Here is how to see the refund.
Captions
- How do I change the caption style on my clips?Pick a caption style before Auk makes your clips, change it for one clip in the editor, or save it in a template for every project.
- How do I fix a wrong word in my captions?Correct a misheard word, cut words or fillers out of the video, change the speed or trim the clip from the Transcript panel in the Auk editor.
Reframe
- How does Auk turn a horizontal video into a vertical clip?Auk crops each clip to 9:16 and follows whoever is talking. For several people, a screen with a webcam, or nobody in frame, it switches layout.
- How do I fix the crop or framing of a clip?Change a segment's layout, drag the crop onto the right person, put a person, a video or an image in each box, or show the whole frame, all in Reframe.
Editing and export
- How do I use the Auk clip editor?A tour of the Auk editor, from the top bar, transcript, preview, tools, timeline, right-click menu, shortcuts, saving and the phone layout.
- How do I add b-roll and music to a clip?Add stock or uploaded videos and images over your speaker, upload music or sound effects, and set their size, volume, fades and length in the Auk editor.
- How do I add text, elements and motion to my clip?Add a title from the Text tool, a call to action, sticker or shape from Elements, and a zoom or shake from Motion, then animate each one in and out.
- How do I export and download a clip?Open the clip and press Download. Auk renders a vertical 1080 by 1920 MP4 with your captions, for free.
- How do I use templates and add an intro or outro to every clip?A template saves captions, title, background, volume, motion and an intro and outro scene, and applies them to every clip Make clips makes.
